Just got these pictures from Ali when he was passing by AUK car boot sale, it seems from the picture that their wasn’t many participators this year hope it will increase next year since it is an annual event.
We were just done taking pictures for this post when we saw this KDD vending machine right outside the scientific center. Has it been done before by KDD? coz I think it’s a cool idea and should’ve been done a long time ago.
I just read on Q8BlackMarket’s blog that Hackett has just opened a branch in the Avenues phase II. I only discovered this brand recently and I really like their shirts.
Right after finishing from Prime and toast (previous post) I went to Soug wajif in almubarakiya. Soug wajif or Soug alhareem (Women’s market) is an old Kuwaiti soug where usually women would sit and sell traditional and women stuff.
Before going in I stood and took some pictures of the entry. This guy pictured above started hiding his face and asked me loudly not to photograph him. When I came closer I asked for the reason and he said “I don’t think my face is nice enough to be photographed.” I laughed and tried to convince him that there was nothing wrong with his face.. and we started talking. I asked him about the Soug and for how long he’s been working here.
I went to Prime & Toast with a couple of friends the other day based on the many praises I’ve heard about the breakfast at this place. I’ve been to the place once before for dinner and I liked it, but since I don’t like breakfasts much, I went with low expectations. Read the rest of this entry »
Since I don’t know much about football, I asked my cousin for his opinion and here is what Fawaz thought:
“I think that the game was played today by our team without a real target of winning in mind, because this game had different circumstances surrounding it; the opening game of the cup, the ban being just lifted and the fact that it took place in Oman and that the Omani team is considered a serious contender to win the whole cup. All of this led the Kuwaiti team, again in my opinion, to want to come out with a nil-nil outcome. This is based on their performance on the first half, However, The way they played, especially on the second half of the game gave them (and us) great hope and confidence to play better the next time around and for the other teams to reevaluate our national team.
The substitutions that happened in the second half by Mohammed Ibrahim went accordingly with his strategy and plans; to sustain the team’s performance to wrap up the game and still end up in a good shape.
Now, when it comes to who played the best and who lost many opportunities, then it is Bader alMutawwa and Ahmad ajab, respectively. And the man of the match, in my opinion, is Nawwaf Alkhaldy, our goal keeper, who defended his goal and held his own in spite of the many shots that came toward him.”
And another friend thought:
“in any other game the performance of Oman’s Ali Alhabsi would be ample to earn him the game’s man of the match, But surely was out shone by the impressive display shown by Kuwait’s number one stopper, Alkhaldy, who put on a sensational string of saves that are truly worthy of man of the match accolade. The goal keeper not only kept his side in the game but kept a secure feeling that had the back four faulted he would step up to the challenge.”

Our friends decided it was time for them to get to know the sharks a little better, so they went to the scientific center’s aquarium, signed some release forms (stating that the center won’t be held responsible if anything goes wrong), put on their diving gears and then dove right in. Me & HKR were there to document the experience with our cameras, you know, incase something interesting happens… Read the rest of this entry »

Is it true that the whole area where slider station, Burger Hub and prime & toast are located is getting demolished? Clearly the shops closer to the central bank have been evacuated already.. are they next?
Thanks Fawaz
UpdateMark wrote about the topic some time ago and got the following response from the owners of slider station & pink moon: “According to the owners of Slider Station and Pink Moon, their building will not be demolished”
We were back last friday and saturday at Althuba3iya’s mini runway and this time there were some new planes there. I was most excited to see them fly the Private Jet, the Cessna Citation, which after some googling turned out to be a real private jets’ company. Ali Mashinchy was there too, I was told He is a very famous and one of the best jet pilots out there and that he’d won some major awards doing this. We were blown away by his skills as soon as he started flying those jets. He put quite a show on. Read the rest of this entry »
I heard the one in Kuwait international fairs ground (arth alma3areth) went very nicely and had lots of good feedback from thee people for the way it was handled and organized. But looking at the pictures above (I don’t know which branch) I can’t help but think.. Is it really worth it?? going through all that!? I mean look at the employees!Â
Taco Bell has a branch in the newly opened Dubai mall. Since it’s in Dubai, I think the chances of it opening here in Kuwait have increased a bit.
I’m not one of those who love everything that isn’t in Kuwait, like Nandos and wagamama, Everyone wanted them in Kuwait, I didn’t, coz they suck (sue me). But it’s different this time, I really hope Taco Bell opens up a branch here in Kuwait simply coz I’m fed up with all the sandwiches here. Mcdonald’s patties have gone downhill for awhile now and no one seems to mind or even notice! I mean have you tried their cheeseburgers? why are their beef patties so damn dry?! and Hardee’s… The posters they have plastered everywhere showing this big chicken sandwich covered in buffalo sauce…. Turns my stomach up.
I’m rambling. My point is, I think I need my fast food fix from somewhere new and different. Tacos could potentially be it.
