The brand new Ekelni.com online food ordering service has finally launched. I just registered and I really liked the way they set the whole registering process. It was easy to navigate and the whole thing looks really good. They also launched an iPhone App to go along with it.

Check it out: Ekelni.com

The Guys over at Ekelni.com asked us to take a look at their website, review it and post about it. So we were given access to Ekelni, snuck inside and took a peak.. We pretty much liked everything we saw. Ofcourse the site is still being worked on, but it’s kinda almost ready..

So what this Ekelni is all about?

Ekelni.com is a new online food-ordering service that is about to be launched in Kuwait by a group of young Kuwaitis. Ekelni would be the second service of it’s kind in Kuwait, and hopefully could push up the bar for a better experience. The site looks great and the navigation is pretty simple.. You know what, let me put the things I liked in a list..

I liked:

  • The pages were laid out very nicely and was easy to navigate from one page to another. No clutter.
  • Almost every dish has a picture next to it. You’d appreciate this feature if you ever had to go by a dish’s name at an asian restaurant.
  • Works perfectly on my favorite browser, Safari!
  • An iPhone application to go along with it.
  • The site will be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Cash, K Net, Visa & MaserCards are accepted.

I think its very promising. I enjoyed the little tour around the site and I think you all will once it is launched.

Electrozan are holding an event for the new 3G iPads at their Salmiya branch. They have 2 demos set out for you to try out and get their feel. They’re working on having them in store soon.

The thing with this event is that it’ll be kinda exclusive for you blogs readers. It is only advertised in blogs where Electorzan is a sponsor, so you won’t be annoyed by huge lines and lots of people waiting. You’ll get alone time with the device and try it out all you want. Fill the form below and you’ll have a slot reserved for you to try the iPad out. I was told there are gifts in store for you if you reserved your slot online and went to try it out.

Fill your form here

iPad 3G event is powered by VIVA Micro sim cards.

Ok I knew blogs had impact on people, and I knew our blog had a big audience, but when I was writing my post, and leaking the news to you guys about zain’s new MicroSim Cards, I didn’t expect to cause 2 big companies like Wataniya and VIVA to panic!

Our friends over at Buzberry and Frankom just posted Viva’s MicroSims and Wataniya’s press release, respectively. Coincidently just 2 days after the Zain news leak.

I’m so enjoying watching companies trip over each other over a post 😛

My friend Nasser managed to send me some pictures from inside the exhibition. He told me that Zain will kick off their yearly exhibition titled Zain City tomorrow at 4:30pm. The Exhibition will include many new technologies, offers, discounts and surprises. The guys are still working there till this hour (i’m writing this post at 12:37am).

Exhibition is open everyday from April 22nd to May 1st.

Thanks Nasser

All of us get annoyed from the endless title screens, trailers, and warnings primarily because you’re often prevented from skipping them once the DVD starts playing. But with this trick you don’t have to wait through the warnings any more. To skip over the warnings and stuff just press Stop -> Stop -> Play in your remote control. For more information see the video above.

Thanks Ahmad

I just read on Blog37 that a good twitter application for Blackberry is available and is free. A full review with screen caps can be found HERE.

Download it

I was just talking to an OSN sales person over the phone and he told me that they’ll send each OSN subscriber a decoder (satellite receiver with no slot for a card). He said that it’s a gift so you could enjoy the channels in HD format.

Can this decoder affect tv piracy?

Just wondering if anyone knows who is the Bandluxe dealer in Kuwait (if you don’t know what is BanLuxe, its for wireless internet routers and USB modems), if there is No dealer here in Kuwait, is there any in Dubai? if the answer is No again then my last question, is there any shop that sells wide range of Bandluxe products here in Kuwait or even Dubai?

My friend is selling US iTune cards and some other interesting products. He was one of the first people selling the latest blackberry bold, and he will be having those sort of electronics and products as they become available.

Check out We Sell Them

I finally got a new battery. It’s been an ongoing hassle for months now with the laptop and it’s old dead battery. I don’t know why it died and I’m not sure what to do to protect the new battery. The laptop feels better when you don’t worry about accidentally unplugging the charger and have your laptop go dead while working (by working I mean surfing amazon and looking at blogs).

Thanks Mishary for the battery and the long bill that came along with it 😛

X-Cite (AlGhanim Electronics) in Fahaheel is now open throughout the month 24/7. So if you ever get up in the middle of the night and need to buy a plasma tv right away, you know where to go.

Thanks Fawaz

New blog aggregator in town. Bloggers add your blogs & readers bookmark Botamba!

Nice name by the way (Botamba means ‘fat person’. It can be used for both men and women) very Kuwaiti.

First seen on Blog37 & Frankom.

Zain has released the new MiFi ads, watch them above and witness the “bower” 😛

We reviewed the wireless routers so if you want to know what the MiFi is all about and what we had to say about it click HERE.

zains mifi_1

Zain’s Marketing Department have sent us their new Zain MiFi device, which is not yet released in the market. Let’s start by telling you what it is first: The MiFi in a nutshell is a mobile router. And it’s size is almost exactly like the Blackberry curve size. This is getting particular attention and marketing, in most major cities, YEAH! Local has been delegated to engage in a multitude of “feet on the street” advertising with many paid actors involved.

We have put it through tests for 3 days now, and we have the results. But before talking about its functions and all, we’d like to point out that this thing is elegant! when we held it it looked like a women’s fancy compact makeup; Storage is easy with this thing. Its a mobile router that you can charge and then use wirelessly.

3497 E-Mails

Ever since getting the blackberry I stopped checking the emails on my laptop.. and they kept piling up 🙂

Back to My First Love

Yes, I’m back.. to my first love.. a couple of days ago I went to Electrozan to buy the iPhone 3GS 16GB which was more expensive by around KD15 compared to the net. They were offering it for KD289, for the officially unlocked one.

I used it for couple of days now and I will compare it to the 1st generation iPhone because that was what I had before, its much much much faster, got a real gps, 3G internet speed.. and many more things!

The only problem was that I did not want to lose any of the blackberry main features which were the push emails and BBM. 9K2HN reminded me of MobileMe service which solve the push email problem, since apple provide that service. And the BBM issue was then solved by downloading and installing BeejiveIM on the iPhone, it’ll act like a BBM but in a different way; All of the BBM contacts should be signed in on Google Talk application, which is already in their BlackBerries, and they’ll be online 24/7, thus enabling the push service from there. I know its a bit complicated but once you’re done you won’t notice the difference.
